Mr. South Africa 2010 Johannesburg semi-finalist, Helgard Marais visited Keurboom Interim Home to enhance his continued support to CANSA and the people they care for all over South Africa.
Keurboom Interim Home is one of 10 homes run by CANSA to provide out-of-town patients with a home away from home while they are accessing treatment for Cancer. The home provides accommodation, healthy and nourishing meals and transport to and from treatment centers for the duration of their stay.
“It was great today to learn that Keurboom don’t only cater to the immediate needs of cancer patients that requires treatment, but also provide emotional and spiritual support, health care and recreation in an impeccable facility where patients are able to enjoy the company of other people in similar situation in a calm, caring atmosphere.” Helgard said.
Keurboom is located in Belgravia in Johannesburg and managed by a passionate and caring Sandi van Tonder and her 4 staff members. This tranquil facility can accommodate 20 patients at a time and relay on donations to provide these outstanding service free of charge to people in need.
